Every tier is a disclosure
A documentation tier states which document classes are verified on file for a work — ownership provenance and consent — and exactly what evidence is enclosed at each tier. Nothing more, nothing less.
We are an information service. A tier describes what our reviewers examined, under which rubric version, and what you receive with the work — it is not a judgment of the work, not an endorsement, and not a promise about it. You see what we saw, and decide.
Two axes. One computed tier.
Every documented work is placed on both axes, and the pair maps to a documentation tier — computed against a versioned rubric, never hand-set.
Axis 1 · Ownership provenance
How deeply the work’s ownership and documentary history was verified — evidence class by evidence class.
Archive-Verified
Full documentary chain of title, authenticity records, and authority proof — reviewed and recorded as present and strong.
Documented
Partial documentary history alongside verified ownership or authority to license.
Self-Attested
A verified identity and a signed self-declaration of ownership — the lightest rung.

Axis 2 · Consent strength
Whether the rights-holder has signed consent for their work to be used — and how precisely that consent is scoped.

No active signed consent on file. Consent is opt-in, always — without it, a work carries no documentation tier.
Computed, never hand-set
Tiers fall out of the rubric’s thresholds applied to the recorded evidence and consent. No one assigns a tier by hand.
Versioned rubric
Thresholds live in rubric versions (current: v0.2.0). Versions are append-only — tuning the rubric means adding a new version, never rewriting what an existing tier meant.
Reproducible at any date
Each tier records its rubric version and a fingerprint of its inputs, so the exact computation can be re-run and checked at any later date.

Declared
Identity and consent — signed, scoped, and current.
What was verified
A verified identity and a signed self-declaration of ownership, plus consent that is signed and scoped to named uses. Where the provenance record is lightest, this tier requires consent at its most specific.
Who it fits
Living creators licensing their own work directly — and buyers whose first requirement is current, specific, signed consent from an identified declarant.

Documentation tiers and audit packs describe what we reviewed. They are provided as-is, without warranty of any kind — including authenticity, ownership, non-infringement, or fitness for AI training — and are not insured or indemnified. The Terms of Service govern.
Awaiting Documentation
No signed consent, no tier — by design.
Consent is opt-in. Always. A work whose rights-holder has not signed consent carries no buyer-facing documentation tier — however strong its provenance record. A tier only exists where the person with authority over the work has said yes, in writing.
Awaiting Documentation is not a verdict on the work — there is no failing state here. The provenance service still serves these works in full: their registration, evidence records, and documentary history stand — and if the rights-holder opts in later, the tier is computed from what is already on file.
Consent can also be withdrawn. Revocation is prospective only. It ends the grant for new uses and licenses. It does not unwind uses completed while consent was active, does not require retraining or deletion of models trained under a then-valid grant, and prior licenses survive per their terms. The record of what was granted, and when, stays intact.

Behind every grade: the audit pack
Every tiered work is backed by an audit pack — the deliverable behind the enclosure lists above. It carries the signed verification attestation (who verified, when, under which rubric version), class-level summaries of the evidence reviewed with document hashes, the consent snapshot with revocation status, and the onchain anchor receipt for the attestation.
About the anchor receipt
The anchor fixes a fingerprint (hash) of the attestation onchain at a point in time — evidence preservation. Anyone can confirm the record existed in that form on that date and has not changed since. It does not, by itself, establish that a work is authentic; the evidence summaries state what was actually reviewed.
Confidentiality
Underlying documents are never included. They remain confidential with the rights-holder and are available under NDA or protective order during diligence; document hashes allow any produced document to be matched to this record byte-for-byte.
